In 2007 - Tokio Hotel, Germany’s most successful band released their last album (Zimmer 483). Since then it has been awfully quiet when it comes to new songs of the four Magdeburgers. In the meantime Bill’s vocal cord surgery and the succes abroad is causing some confusion.

After his vocal cord surgery, the Tokio Hotel frontman Bill Kaulitz was put down to four weeks of silence by his doctors. A difficult time for the singer! But they also brought something good! Since then Bill daily writes new songs for the third Tokio Hotel album.

“Bill is constantly coming to me with new ideas for songs,” tells band manager and producer David Jost to Bild.de. Every important lyric idea is written on a hotel flyer or on Bill’s laptop, this way Bill has put together lots of ideas already. “And depending where he is at the moment he is writing short lyrics in his phone.

The time before, during, and after the surgery inspired the singer just as much as the many impressions he got during trips in the USA, France and Spain. “I think Bill’s lyric writing is a crossing between him missing home on one side and not missing it on the other. He wished he was home but at the same time he constantly wants to go further,” Jost tells about Bill’s ideas.

When the production of the third Tokio Hotel album will begin isn’t clear yet. What does the record company say about that?

“Of course they are pressuring us, but we just don’t let it influence us. We would be crazy if we would just make a quick album just to make a deadline,” according to Jost.

What is clear: Bill stays true to his own language and will sing in German again!

After Tokio Hotel got big succeses abroad we had to bring out an English album. David Jost tells: “The fans want to get as close to Bill’s true identity as they can. Because of that, they want to hear German lyrics…”

Glam-rockers Tokio Hotel [ tickets ] have announced dates for a summer headlining run through North America behind the band's English-language debut, "Scream."

Although the new album--which is sold as "Room 483" in German-speaking territories, the English translation of "Zimmer 483"--has performed well in Europe, selling more than 600,000 copies to date, the band has struggled to gain popular success in the US, although the group has attracted a ground swelling of support due to its theatrical live act.

Dressed in black and red, Bill Kaulitz – skinny figure, ultra spiky hair and eyes full with black eyeliner and grey shade – it’s clearly the center of atentions, despite the many love declarations that, a little through the all venue, comtemply the other band members.

“Break Away”, the first music of the night, was barely heard due to the fans screaming; “Final Day”, which followed, showed Bill Kaulitz descending the stares, from the platform to the low floor of the stage, with the skills of someone who steps in a catwalk. While the glamourous vocalist, who started his career in a kind of “Chuva de Estrelas” (portuguese show) singing “It’s Raining Men”, debits emotional lyrics with which every young girl present can identify themselves with, the band accompanies him in an almost naked-metal.

“Live every Second” becomes a juvenile hymm, with the public vibrating with the message of inconformism and the quartet enveloping themselves in the crowd flattering, while “Love is Dead” makes appear, in the giant screen in the bottom of the stage, diabolic flames that, probably, match that that burns without be seen. In a kindly setlist, several themes in german weren’t missed – that even the youngest followed without hesitation – and a hand full of ballads old times way, like “Don’t Jump”, with Bill Kaulitz once again in the platform, or the obligatory “Monsoon”, accompanied with thunderstorm clouds in the giant screen.

Curious was the projection of a small film, while the music retreated themselves to change clothes or, who knows, spy the result of the Euro final. On those images, you could see the band shopping and picking clothes, but also walking with “Foofighters” shirts, signing fans boobs and playing foosball. The idea of “live on the road”, so hard and sweet, looks expensive to the band, even in that point follower of a certain hair-metal iconography of the eighties.

Seit vergangenem Sonntag ist ‘Tokio Hotel’ endgültig die wohl erfolgreichste deutsche Band der Jetzt-Zeit. Bei ihrem Auftritt im ‘Parc de Prince’-Stadion in Paris feierte Bill Kaulitz und Co. mit 30.000 meist weiblichen Fans. Nach ihrem umjubelten Gastspiel in den USA im vergangenen Monat rockt ‘Tokio Hotel’ nun auch Europa, denn Paris war nur der Auftakt ihrer Tour.

30.000 kreischende Fans begrüßten Tokio Hotel am Sonntagabend auf der Bühne im ehemaligen WM-Stadion von 1998. Beinahe ebenso viele eindeutige Angebote bekam der Frontmann der Band, Bill Kaulitz, von der französischen Fangemeinschaft: "Bill isch liebe dich", kreischten die süßen Französinnen auf deutsch.

Neben dem großen Erfolg von ‘Tokio Hotel' war das Konzert auch ein großer Akt der Völkerverständigung.
